POLYGAMY AND GOD

The ancient Hebrews, as portrayed in the Old Testament, clearly believed in multiple partnerships and this practice is nowhere condemned by God.

When the New Testament scriptures are viewed as a whole, taking into account the cultural context in which they were written, it is clear that neither Jesus nor the writers of the New Testament condemned such practice, although it appears that polygamy had, for non-religious reasons, substantially declined within Jewish culture by the time of Christ.

Despite this biblical evidence, the Christian church has persistently opposed polygamous relationships and has, at times, actively persecuted families which chose to practice this lifestyle. The church has also used twisted interpretations of various scriptures in defense of its opposition to this lifestyle."

More are now aggressively teaching that the Bible sanctions polygamous practices today and some even say that polygamy is "God’s ideal state." If you consult Nave’s Topical Bible, you will find one section under "Polygamy" titled, "Authorized…2 Samuel 12: 8." If God ever "authorized" polygamy, how could it have ever been immoral? Let us briefly consider the passage adduced to prove the "authorization" of polygamy.

"7: And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul; 8: And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things" (2 Sam. 12).

It is understood by some that the expression, "And I gave thee thy master’s…wives into thy bosom…" means that God was pleased with one man and multiple women. I agree that if there were not any other statement or teaching in the Bible, one might conclude the acceptance of the practice of multiple wives. However, could not the student also simply understand the statement to mean in general that God had given to David all that appertained to Saul and that the reference to Saul’s women was the ultimate proof, especially if we find sound evidence that God was not pleased with polygamy? (Saul appears to have had only one wife and one concubine, I Sam. 14: 15; I Sam. 3: 7.)

Those who contend that the Bible never negatively treats polygamy are wrong. Consider the warning given to prospective and actual kings of Israel:

"16: But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way. 17: Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold" (Deut. 17).

Notice the three "shall nots," multiply horses, multiply wives, multiply silver and gold. Solomon is often sited as proof for the practice of polygamy being right, but Solomon was wrong in all three areas. Solomon had a vast number of horses; he had riches unparallel; and seven hundred wives (I Kgs. 4: 26; Eccl. 1-10; I Kgs. 11: 3). Hence, to use the example of Solomon and his seven hundred wives to argue for polygamy is an example of how simplistically a subject can be approached and dialectically presented.

The ideal marriage, according to God. The very first marriage, Adam and Eve, in many ways serves as a prototype, if you will. Notice that God knew that it was not good that Adam be alone and God provided for Adam a "help meet" (counter part that was a complement to Adam, Gen. 2: 18). Observe how God did not simply provide another man, but for Adam God made woman, the "glory of the man" (Gen. 2: 18ff., I Cor. 11: 7ff.). Hence, same sex marriage is not part of God’s arrangement for the marriage bond (see Rom. 1: 22ff.). Moreover, appreciate the fact that when God instituted marriage, it was one man and one woman (Gen. 2).

Polygamy is also expressly denounced pertaining to the leaders of God’s people.

"2: A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach," "6: If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly" (I Tim. 3; Tit. 1).

The expression "husband of one wife" (andra mias gunaikos) was provided by the Holy Spirit and must be respected. The Holy Spirit could have worded this requirement a number of ways. This construction requires marriage (present marriage) but forbids polygamy.

Thus in the case of the Hebrew leaders (the kings) and in the case of the rulers of God’s people today (cp. Heb. 13: 17), having more than one wife is expressly forbidden. Why would one think such would not also follow regarding those under these men?

In conclusion, the word never forbids multiple wives directly since we dont know if Solomon already had many wives in the verses above. By taking the teachings however as a whole it seems almost impossible to see it as acceptable under the new covenant.

ISLAM AND THE QURAN: THE ENEMY THAT IS COMING

Muhammad in 622ad began his ministry and teachings of death and submission. He and his followers killed 700 jews and continued into other nations; Persia in 638ad, the Northern African Catholics, and Egypt. They have been kept back and defeated time and time again but once again are rising and maybe a greater threat than before. Now they are everywhere and growing due to transportation and technology. There are over 1 billion Muslims and 100 million of those are extremists. This means only 10 percent really practice the religion or teachings of the Quran.

The Quran doesnt teach peace like some try to teach put is a religion of force. Its a force compliance religion not a religion of choice or change of ones heart.
Here are many of the verses in their book against all who dont bow the knee to Alah.

They teach fighting:
[2:216] Fighting may be imposed on you, even though you dislike it. But you may dislike something which is good for you, and you may like something which is bad for you. GOD knows while you do not know.

They teach kill then ask for forgiveness:
[4:103] Once you complete your Contact Prayer (Salat), you shall remember GOD while standing, sitting, or lying down.* Once the war is over, you shall observe the Contact Prayers (Salat); the Contact Prayers (Salat) are decreed for the believers at specific times.

[4:104] Do not waver in pursuing the enemy. If you suffer, they also suffer. However, you expect from GOD what they never expect. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise.

[4:105] We have sent down to you the scripture, truthfully, in order to judge among the people in accordance with what GOD has shown you. You shall not side with the betrayers.

[4:106] You shall implore GOD for forgiveness. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

Fighting the enemy and dying means reward:
[4:74] Those who readily fight in the cause of GOD are those who forsake this world in favor of the Hereafter. Whoever fights in the cause of GOD, then gets killed, or attains victory, we will surely grant him a great recompense.

Believing in Jesus is wrong; Paganism
[5:17] Pagans indeed are those who say that GOD is the Messiah, the son of Mary. Say, "Who could oppose GOD if He willed to annihilate the Messiah, son of Mary, and his mother, and everyone on earth?" To GOD belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them. He creates whatever He wills. GOD is Omnipotent.

[5:18] The Jews and the Christians said, "We are GOD's children and His beloved." Say, "Why then does He punish you for your sins? You are just humans like the other humans He created." He forgives whomever He wills and punishes whomever He wills. To GOD belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them, and to Him is the final destiny.

Believing Jesus and Trinity is evil
[5:72] Pagans indeed are those who say that GOD is the Messiah, son of Mary. The Messiah himself said, "O Children of Israel, you shall worship GOD; my Lord* and your Lord." Anyone who sets up any idol beside GOD, GOD has forbidden Paradise for him, and his destiny is Hell. The wicked have no helpers.

[5:73] Pagans indeed are those who say that GOD is a third of a trinity. There is no god except the one god. Unless they refrain from saying this, those who disbelieve among them will incur a painful retribution.

[5:74] Would they not repent to GOD, and ask His forgiveness? GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

[5:75] The Messiah, son of Mary, is no more than a messenger like the messengers before him, and his mother was a saint. Both of them used to eat the food. Note how we explain the revelations for them, and note how they still deviate!

God wants you to kill:
[47:4] If you encounter (in war) those who disbelieve, you may strike the necks. If you take them as captives you may set them free or ransom them, until the war ends. Had GOD willed, He could have granted you victory, without war. But He thus tests you by one another. As for those who get killed in the cause of GOD, He will never put their sacrifice to waste.

Beware folks! The religion is evil to the core. Those not killing arent really practicing the true teachings. We need to pray for God to protect us and detroy the enemy.

WITNESSING 101: THE NEGATIVE BEFORE THE POSITIVE

Jesus witnessing to the rich man takes him through the laws. Why?
The law points out a weakness to the man. He then is faced with the result; turn from self or reject Jesus.
This is a format used all throughout scripture in witnessing to the lost. Jesus said lest ye repent you can not enter the kingdom of God.

Paul used the same method in writing the letter to the Romans. Showing the person themselves must be done first. They must see their lost condition. They must have a reason to turn to Christ. Without seeing their sins they have no reason to accept him. To them the ride on the great ship of life is fine. They cant see their is a hole in the bottom of the boat and that a large cliff is up ahead that will surely destroy the ship when it topples over. The current is going one direction towards the cliff. Theres no stopping it. There is a small life boat however nearby calling and warning the big ship. The people however are not listening to the pleas. Things are too fine on the ship. The noise of the world is too pleasant. Life is the same way heading to death. Theres no escape. We need the hole plugged now and even then death is still sure. The life boat is the only rescue. We will face Jesus on judgement day and the lost must recognize this. You have to get them lost before you can show them salvation. Their negativity must come before his positivity.

MITOCHONDRIA STUDY PROOF OF FLOOD?

In the following transcript from Discovery channel, the two genetic scientist have been involved in Mitochondrial DNA. Mitochonidia is the "powerhouse" or supplier of power to the cell. It actually has its OWN DNA that only comes from the mother. Because of this, it is unchanged and the human past is recorded. They scientists say that they were analyzing all of this info and realized that there was a point in the past where humans nearly died off completely. There was a mass population, then a bottleneck, and the re-population. They think human population bottlenecked to a few thousand... I think just 8 myself. Is this not powerful evidence of the Great Flood!

Lynn Jorde and Henry Harpending are scientists specialising in human genetics. Since the early 1990s they have been studying mitochondrial DNA using the information to investigate mankind's past. Most of our genetic information is stored in the nuclei of our cells, but a small, separate quantity exists in another component, the part which produces the cells' energy, the mitochondria.

Prof Lynn Jorde (University of Utah): Mitochondria have their own genes. It's a small number of genes, a small amount of DNA, but it's distinct from the rest of the DNA in the cell and because of the way mitochondria are transmitted from one generation to the next, they're inherited only from the mother so they give us a record of the maternal lineage of a population.

Narrator: Mitochondrial DNA is inherited only by the mother. All mutations are passed on from mother to child, generation after generation at a regular rate. Over time, the number of these mutations accumulate in a population.

Lynn Jorde: Every event that takes place in our past, every major event, a population increase, a population decrease, or the exchange of people from one population to another changes the composition of the mitochondrial DNA in that population, so what happens is that we have a record of our past written in our mitochondrial genes.

Narrator: By knowing the rate of mutation of mitochondrial DNA and by a complex analysis of the distribution of these mutations, the geneticists can estimate the size of populations in the past. Several years ago they began seeing a strange pattern in their results.

Lynn Jorde: We expected that we would see a pattern consistent with a relatively constant population size. Instead, we saw something that departed dramatically from that expectation. We saw a pattern much more consistent with a dramatic reduction in population size at some point in our past.

Narrator: This confirmed what other geneticists have noticed. Given the length of time humans have existed, there should be a wide range of genetic variation, yet DNA from people throughout the world is surprisingly similar. What could have caused this? The answer is a dramatic reduction of the population some time in the past: a bottleneck.

Lynn Jorde: We imagine the population diagrammed like this. In the distant past we have a large population, then a bottleneck and then a subsequent enlargement of population size again, so we would have families of people in the distant past with a significant amount of genetic diversity, but when the bottleneck occurs, when there's a reduction in population size perhaps only a few of those families would survive the bottleneck.

We have a dramatic reduction in genetic diversity during this time when the population is very small and then after the bottleneck the people who we would see today would be descendants only of those who survived and they're going to be genetically much more similar to one another reducing the amount of genetic variation.

Narrator: Human DNA is so similar the scientists concluded the population reduction had been catastrophic.

Prof Henry Harpending (University of Utah): It seemed so incredible, you know the idea that all of us, now there's 6 billion people on Earth, and what the data were telling us was that we, our species was reduced to a few thousand. Suddenly it hit us, we had something to say about human history.

Lynn Jorde: Our population may have been in such a precarious position that only a few thousand of us may have been alive on the whole face of the Earth at one point in time, that we almost went extinct, that some event was so catastrophic as to nearly cause our species to cease to exist completely.

Narrator: It is an astonishing revelation, but the key was to find out when and why it happened. Because mitochondrial DNA mutates at an average rate these scientists believe, controversially, that they can narrow down the date of the bottleneck.

Lynn Jorde: Mutations in the mitochondria take place with clocklike regularly, so the number of mutations give us a clock essentially that we can use to approximately date the major event. In the case of a population bottleneck we think that this would have occurred roughly 70-80,000 years ago, give or take some number of thousands of years. So then the real question is: what could have caused such a reduction, an extreme reduction, in the human population down to as few as 5 or 10,000 individuals?

Only the flood of the bible seems logical for such a situation to occur as Jason states.

RAHAB THE HARLOT

Rahab’s confession of faith.

Now before they lay down, she came up to them on the roof, and said to the men: “I know that the Lord has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath. Now therefore, I beg you, swear to me by the Lord, since I have shown you kindness, that you also will show kindness to my father’s house, and give me a true token, and spare my father, my mother, my brothers, my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.” So the men answered her, “Our lives for yours, if none of you tell this business of ours. And it shall be, when the Lord has given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you.”

Rahab, a Caananite harlot, had protected the men of the covenant because she believed in the promise of God that the land was theres. She is included in the hall of fame of faith in the famous passages in Hebrews 11. She was included by faith.
In Joshua she is symbolized with the scarlet thred that she hung down the wall of her home. The symbolism of Christ beams out here as the gentile and jew are connected by a scarlet line. God has always had only one people of faith and the story of Rahab proclaims this. She had faith in the God of heaven.

LAND PROMISED TO ISRAEL FULFILLED IN THE PAST NOT FUTURE

One of the big promises dispensationalists claim is that Israel has not received all the land promised to them by God. These verses clearly teach us otherwise.

Soon after Abraham entered Canaan, God promised: "Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates (Gen. 15:18). However, Abraham never actually owned any of the land until his wife Sarah died, after which he purchased the cave of Machpelah where he buried her. Unlike the Zionists, Abraham did not assume that God's promise gave him the right to steal the land from its current owners, and he wouldn't even take the burial ground as a gift but insisted on paying for it.

It was not until over 400 years later that the descendants of Abraham, the 12 tribes of Israel, were told to take the land. Moses said to them, "Behold, I have set the land (of Canaan) before you: go in and possess the land which the Lord swear unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them" (Deut. 1:8).

Because of unbelief they failed to obey, and it was forty years later, after the death of Moses, that the promise was repeated to Joshua: "Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates ..." (Joshua 1:3,4).

The promise was fulfilled so that, just before Joshua died, he could say, "And the Lord gave unto Israel all the land which He swear to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.., there failed not ought of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass" (Joshua 21:43-45).

The fulfillment of the promise was confirmed by Nehemiah, who said, "So the children went in and possessed the land" (Neh. 9:7-24). Jeremiah also said that Israel "came in and possessed the land" (Jer. 32:21 ).

Before Stephen was killed by the Jews, he reminded them that God had fulfilled His promise regarding the land, saying, "They entered on the possession of the nations" (Acts 7:45).

Clearly the promise to give this land to Israel was totally fulfilled.

Like most of what dispensationalists teach, if you look at these scriptures you will see the obvious false teachings of this doctrine.

OUR WORLD NO LONGER A SAFE ONE

Students were killed this week as a student with hate in his heart shot up the Virginia Tech class rooms. 32 souls ended at his hands and then he took his own life. A few days later a man walks into his work place at NASA and kills a co-worker. Six years ago Muslim extremists flew planes into our buildings in New York and Washington killing over 2000 people. These are not the norm in the American culture. Why is this happening to us today? First we need to look at the ones doing the evil. Hate in the hearts of the killers is the main driving force. Why this hate? We dont know all the details but one things is evident and that is there is no christian culture or salvation in these parties.
In fact the school incident is not the first. Columbine Colorado a few years ago had the same horror occur. Two kids killed students by entering the school with weapons and then killed at point blank range. We are losing something within our nation. We need help.

God since the 1960s has been slowely removed from our schools. Prayer was voted out and even the word God in the pledge of allegience. We are simply being punished not nessesarily from God but simply from not alowing the word and his teachings in our schools and inhabiting the students hearts. Parents are responsible for their children even more but our schools, especially in a public setting where parenthood is lacking, must have an authoritative God presented to the children. There must be a concious reinforced within them. Maybe both of these killings would not have occured if the ones killing would have heard about a God or mercy and judgement. Sin truly is reigning everywhere in our nation. We need to let God back in to fight these enemys within.

THE TERRIBLE LIZZARD HAS SPOKEN

Dinosaur, which means terrible lizzard, is one of the main studies of scientist to prove an old earth. Unfortunately for them what was recently discovered is causing major repercussions on their teachings.

A dinosaur T-rex found in Montana recently had an amazing component to it. Soft tissue containing protein in the femur of the dinosaur bones was discovered. Protein is a part of the body that breaks down over time after it has died. Eventually it will be untraceable as it finally vanishes from the body. According to even the scientists, an ice age occured around the time of Noahs flood. Of course scientists believe dinosaurs became extinct to a larger ice age millions of years ago but examining the last ice age could hold the key. If there was a catastrophy 6000 years ago like a flood, and the dinosaur died in it instead of millions of years ago, then traces of the protiens could still be found in the femur of the animal. Anything much older would make protein discoveries impossible among the dead. This is the only conclusion possible. This gives more evidence of a young earth and a flood that really happened. The terrible lizzard is speaking from the grave.

WHY CARBON DATING IS NOT ACCURATE

Trying to find a way to date material, a scientist discovered the dating of old Egyptian coffins in the 3000 bc era. The scientist took these dates as accurate and measured the Carbon 14 from the tissues within them. Then compared to todays life he came up with the ability to measure Carbon 14. The problem with this is not shared with the public. First, the acceptance of the dates on the coffins is taken by faith in the Egyptians. Second, the coffins were compared to current species still available. You cant do this with any other species of object that scientists want to deem as millions of years old.

Carbon dating is the carbon absorbed in the life of an object or species while alive. After it dies the Carbon will begin to dissolve or go away. This is how the carbon dating is done.
Scientists tried to take what they thought was the oldest object, a diamond, and sent it off. It came back 56,000 years old. This of course is according to their way of measuring. Young earth advocates believe the earth is around 7000 years. The 56,000 is a far cry from 7,000 but is alot closer than millions which is what scientists thought they would be. Heres the main problem with the dating. Even the scientists say the half life is 5000 years. Even according to this, if there was something a million years old then carbon 14 would not remain or be detected in that substance. It would have long been evaporated. Therefore Carbon dating is not even close to being an accurate measuring stick for the age of an object. Along with that we need to look at where carbon dating is counting on. Data from Egypt 3000 years bc around the time of Noah. Cant they find anything older. All scientists keep doing is proving the accuracy of the word of God. The world began near Egypt before the time of the coffins. To be unable to find a date before this gives the biblical timeline more credibility. Carbon dating scientists should just bow the knee.

THE OFFSPRING OF YOUR WORDS IS SALVATION

20 “ The Redeemer will come to Zion,
And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,”
Says the LORD.

21 “As for Me,” says the LORD, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the LORD, “from this time and forevermore.”


When you lead another to Christ he or she is born into the family of God. They are your spiritual offspring. They like you will carry on the gospel adding through time generation after generation a people of God in the Spirit forevermore. This is a promise from God that we will take the gospel to the world and that it will change lives. Live with this promise in your heart. Your words go with power from God.

Mother Angelica

Mother Angelica is a Catholic nun who has grown in popularity in the US by the blessings from God. Think about it. Why would a nun be able to have her own station and show? Why would she become so popular in the public eye? Gods blessing is the answer. She only wants to tell others about Christ and tell others of the wisdom God has shown her. EWTN is a station growing around the nation for one simple reason: Mother Angelica. Catholics are having a renewed yerning for God through her teachings and mainly due to the fact that she teaches more like a baptist or evangelical in her practical ideas of scripture. Unlike most Catholic priests who bore you with their rituals and memorized sermons Mother Angelica simply sits in a chair and just casually discusses what the spirit moves her to tell us. She also takes questions and gives Godly wisdom to others.

You may say like I do, "but shes Catholic". Yes she does occasionally comment on Mary and other teachings in Catholicism that are unbiblical but so do dispensational baptists and charasmatic denominations. Yes it would be even better if Angelica and all of these would just accept the word and teach only what the word does say but they dont. What I do see however is this: God is being glorified. Jesus is being taught and his righteousness is the foundation of her teachings. Peoples lives are being changed by her and people are being drawn to the cross and to Christ.
Mother Angelica is an instrument of God.

Mother Angelica had a bad stroke in 2001 and has not been in the picture since but her shows are being rerun more and more and it is now after her public ministry that she has become popular to the rest of the world. She is now bedridden but is still a blessing to her peers. Thank God for Mother Angelica. Its because of her that I realize that in every denomination is light from God. Even in so much man made rituals God can light a candle in a soul to show the people around them truth that only comes from God.
