THE AMERICAN VOTER VERSES THE AMERICAN BUSINESS: THE WALMART EFFECT HAS BEGUN

There is a sad thing going on in America today. We the voters are voicing our oppinion on the same sex marriage agenda but our businesses arent listening. There has to be a change or bad circumstances will come out of this. We need to pray more than ever for America. We are at the crossroads im afraid for the salvation of the nation.

Listen to what God says about things as these: Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
We are becoming a reproach to the world as we blend in with their sins instead of being the becon of light we have always been. Every state that has brought up the ballot to vote on Gods way of marriage or the homosexual agenda has voted Gods way. The people are speaking out but the businesses arent listening. One by one the businesses of America are recognizing same sex couples and giving them insurance. The adoption agencys are letting homosexuals adopt kids into their homes. Our biggest retailer Walmart has now said they will give preferential treatment to gay business owners and are putting gay marriage books into their stores along with Homosexual books explaining the norm of it. Because of how Walmart has cornered the market we as Christians cant ban them like we usually do to show our concern and to take a stand because the only other main retailer of goods seems to be almost as bad. Last year Target said to proclaim happy holidays and took out Merry Christmas because they didnt want to affend anyone. We are going down to sin fast folks. We need to vote and voice our oppinion as much as possible for the times are evil. We need God to intervene. If you want a way to voice your oppinion one way is afa.net. They gather petitions against such sinful agendas. America has forgotten In God We Trust.

THE GIFT OF TONGUES

One of the most deviding things in our churches today in the body of Christ is weither or not the charasmatic church has gone one step forwards towards God by seeking the spiritual side more by seeking tongues and the baptism of the Spirit as they call it. The reason i say it causes division is that a whole other denomination has sprang up because of this adding another different church we can choose to attend with different beliefs. Paul stated in the letter to the Corinthians that we should all be of one mind and one belief instead we break off from each other instead of comparing to the word and discussing and choosing what God would have us do.
This message is about this subject.

The church today teaches tongues in this way: tongues is the ability to pray to God without understanding what is being said, it is to be asked for in conjunction with the baptism of the Spirit, it is for anyone who will ask, it is for self edification, only by speaking in tongues do you have the baptism, and women mostly speak in tongues in their church.
Now lets look at what the bible says about tongues and then we will discuss it. First the bible says tongues was a sign to the unbeliever especially the jew since it was a sign meant for their hearing as Paul quotes in 1 Corinthians 14:21-22. Once the jews heard this they knew it was a sign that God was about through with their covenant. He was tired of their disobedience.
Secondly tongues was a real language miraculously given to a person to speak to others by God. Acts two even lists the languages spoken by the apostles. The other times it was done in front of the jews so they could hear that the gentiles and others received the same Holy Spirit as they. The gentiles were given the jews languages. Three is that tongues was given as a sign gift to prove Gods power and not to use among everyday congregations who spoke the same language. This goes against the whole purpose. It was a way to communicate between believers of different languages especially in the port city of Corinth. Today people claim to be speaking tongues in congregations where everyone speaks the same language. Its not called for.
Tongues and the other gifts of the Spirit were given for the profit of others as 1 Corinthians 12:7 states. A gift from God helps others and is not intended for ones on pleasure. It is to edify others and not you. In 1 Corinthians 14 Paul told the people it was edifying them but was not the purpose of it. He goes on in verse 20 to show them they were using this like children in malice. It was to be used like grown men he goes on to say as God intended it and that was mainly for a sign to the lost and for communication. He even said to the lost you look mad if you just speak in tongues of no understanding. It was to be in order as well and with only a few in each instance. Today there is sometimes more than 10 or even 100 in some cases trying to speak in tongues at the same time. There also is never an interpreter and never a real language being recognized today unlike in the first century. Women are also the main ones in charasmatic churches speaking in tongues and the bible stated that they not speak in tongues in church if you keep 1 Corinthians 14 in context. This verse is totally ignored in todays churches. As I just stated, there must be an interpreter or you must pray for an interpretation or keep quite. This principle is totally ignored in todays church. Paul said he would rather speak 5 intelligible words than 1000 in an unknown tongue. Wow. This is a teaching in itself. They also say it is a prayer language which not only is not taught in scripture but goes against the reason for a Spiritual gift. It is for anothers profit. Your gifts are to profit others not self. Paul is teaching that if you can pray in Spirit then do it for others so they can learn from you. This is the teaching here but is it to be used to someone who doesnt understand you otherwise you just speak to them in the language you both speak. Its not about looking Spiritual its about communicating the word of God and the gospel.

The baptism of the Spirit is the main way they teach the tongues gift. The baptism is to be saught and speaking in tongues is the evidence. It is also for every believer they teach. What does the bible say?
1 Corinthians 12:13 is clear; your baptism in the Spirit is what saved you in the first place. All believers are baptized by the Holy Spirit. Baptism is just a word that means you have been clothed or it is upon you. We all have the Holy Spirit upon, clothed, or in us. Beware of how people try to make words more than what they are to teach different things. Baptism of the Spirit is not a seperate event like charasmatics teach but is our salvation experience. Romans 6 explains this. Also not everyone received the gift of tongues. 1 Corinthians clearly teaches that God gives us the gifts and its not up to us. Its his purposes and his will not ours.
Tongues in the word was also never asked for. God gave the gift as he pleased. No one ever asked to speak in tongues in scripture. Tongues was associated with Peter also who had the keys to the kingdom signifying tongues was associated to the jews as the sign of salvation. Peter was present when the jews spoke in tongues, samaritans, and gentiles. He was to be associated with this as a sign to the jews that all the people were accepted by God as part of the new covenant governed by the Holy Spirit. This is why Peter had to be present in those situations.
Paul also in his teachings taught to seek the greater gifts that edifys the church. He was clearly teaching these Corinthians to go another route. They were trying to look spiritual instead of being a tool for God to build up others.
Tongues like the other miracle gifts spoken about in Mark 16 seem to have passed or not been used by God very shortly after the church was established. Today tongues is the main sign or miracle gift being copied by others maybe because it is harder to disprove. Surely people arent being raised from the dead, healed by a healer, free of snake venom, free of poison injury, and so on. Hebrews 2 even seems to suggest the sign gifts had passed with the Apostles. Paul was even said to have been given special gifts by God in Acts 19 making him different than other followers. Maybe it was because he was recognized as an Apostle born out of season. He seems to be the last to have these gifts. Not being able to heal certain companions such as Timothy also leads me to believe this thaught is correct. Paul undoubtably couldn't heal Timothy but was relegated to pray for healing like we do today.

There is probably a lot more we can say about this teaching but always look at teachings and compare them to the word. Also always look for motive. Most of Churches that teach false ways are usually centered around them and not the gospel message and witnessing the gospel to others. These Churches usually stay within themselves, have little bible study, and also do not stand on a lot of doctrine principles. They tend to call it seeking the Spirit and create a whole other teaching around spirituality. Remember the word of God is not our final authority but our ONLY authority. Stick to it and stay clear of cloudy teachings. There are good people in these churches just simply misguided. Becareful however that your misguidedness doesnt go to the heart and cause a love to the church you attend more than Gods word. Always be fair to God. Not our needs or our emotions but His word should be our guide.

CHRISTIANS AND ALCOHOL

Should Christians really totally abstain from alcoholic drinks? Or does God tell us we can drink moderately?

In the 1800’s and early 1900’s the church in America took a bold stand for total abstinence. People read research about the word "wine;" Bible studies showed the truth about alcohol. The result was Prohibition with its great benefits. But the prohibition amendment was repealed, and the church began to weaken its conviction against alcohol. Today some pastors say, "What’s wrong with a six pack? Why get hung up on a little wine at a wedding?"
The Bible is the same "yesterday, today, and forever." What godly Bible teachers said in the past is true today. Dr. Robert Teachout, A Semitic scholar who, in 1979, wrote his doctorate on The Use of Wine in the Old Testament, stated, "Alcohol is never approved by God in any amount for the obedient Christian."
Dr. Samuele Bacchiocchi, author of Wine in the Bible, 1989, says, Drinking Alcohol is...a moral issue. It is...a transgression of God’s law."

FACTS TO KNOW
1) The Bible does teach total abstinence from alcohol. Both the main Hebrew word for wine and the Greek word for wine can mean either fermented grape juice or intoxicating wine. The English word wine originally had two meanings also - unfermented juice or alcoholic drink.
2) In the Bible, verses to show God approves of wine are speaking about unfermented juice. Verses that expose the evils of wine are speaking about intoxicating wine.
3) The Bible says alcoholic drink is evil. It is not just the amount one drinks that makes drinking a sin. God condemns the drink itself. (Prov 20:1 KJV) Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
4) God does not lead us into evil; He delivers us from it. He does not teach us to practice evil in moderation. Jesus did not make, use, approve, commend, or tell us to use intoxicating wine.
5) God made man to have fellowship with Him. Alcohol goes directly to the brain, the communication center of the body. It interferes with God’s purpose for mankind.

OUR WORDS: ARTWORK FOR GOD

Words are our most powerful weapon believe it or not. Solomon who is known as the wisest man to ever live discussed this as much as any other subject emphesizing its importance. How you speak to others will mold society, the person hearing, and yourself in that day and the rest of their lives and yours. You may not know this but you are what you have heard and what you have seen during your life time. What you say really means something to anyone who hears. The old saying words dont hurt is false. Words are the artwork of the world either for God or against Him.

God delights in positive words. They produce life. Building up people with encouragement draws them to listen to you more and helps them grow in a way more bent towards God. The words you say build or breakdown everyone you come in contact with and this we need to examine.
Are we building for God?

The greatest artwork of course is from God. All the words in the Holy book are from God himself to build us up and show us the way with and in love. There are also however words of warning and judgement for our own good. This is not tearing down but building up as well into the person God wants us to be. When Jesus said you hipocrite to the religious leaders in his day he was not actually tearing down but warning them of their tearing down life styles. His harsh words if they would have listened would have saved their very soul. Jesus said he didnt come to be a friend but a sword. He would cause enemys within familys because of his words. Correction was a large part of the words Jesus spoke simply because of one reason. We are not holy and he is. We are bent in sin needing the correction. His words of correction save us. There is a reason for it.
Be careful however that your opinions of judgement dont harm others that will not bring about good. Make sure any hard words towards others is for their bending towards God and not away from him. The old saying truth does hurt is true but be gentle as possible. We are molding every person we meet. They dont know it but you are making a difference in their lives. Be the artist for God. You will make friends and you will make enemys but speak always for the glory of God. Speak in love to all. Be careful with your artwork. If you put a Godly touch on them they may become his masterpiece. Listen to his words, his music, and others who praise him and mold yourself into a masterpiece for him. Do this and you will produce more pieces acceptable to the Master.

THE UMBRELLA OF HAVING A FEAR OF OUR GOD

1Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
8The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
17But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
18To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
19The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
20Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
21Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
22Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.

All of these blessings for us and benefits all are covered by one big all-important umbrella: fearing God. It takes the fear of God in us for us to humble ourselves and to do his will. It takes this fear to cause us to heed from doing sins and to keep us ever mindful of following him. The world always tells us that fear is bad but fear is actually one of our greatest friends. Thank God today for his mercy, his forgiveness, his healing power, and his protection but just as important is for us to thank him and ask for the fear of God. The fear of God will be our umbrella to keep us from the raining fires of the worlds sinful acts and will be our umbrella in the future from the firing rains of the lake of fire. Abide under the shadow of the almighty with the fear of God.

THE UNPROFITABLE SERVANT: A BAD ENDING

There is an alarming warning in the scriptures that we should take heed. It is the parable of the servants in Matthew 25 and their end results to their choices. two of the servants took the gifts from God and lived for the Master while the other did nothing. Look at the passage of the unprofitable servant. Matthew 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Notice it said He knew the Master was a hard man. This tells us he actually never knew him. The Master is a loving man who freely gave them the gifts. The man merely saw the Lord as a judge. He was lost. It even says he hid the gift. In scripture in other places this is a fruit of shame. When we are ashamed of something we hide it so that we cant present it to others. Jesus said we cant deny him to men or he will deny us. This was another indication of his lost condition.
The final statement was his outcome. The unprofittable servant was sent to hell for is lack of faith that would have produced his salvation which would have done Gods will in him. The Holy Spirit was absent in this mans life. He never accepted the Lord for who he was; His Savior.

CHRISTIAN TELEVISION

One of the greatest tools of the gospel today is the television. It is hard due to financing to get good television on the air but Gods hand has been on this in recent years and now we are having more and more television to proclaim God and his plan to the world.

The most popular of these is a program known as TBN. The Crouches are the head of the station and are great people. The love of God is seen in this couple and they pass it on to their help and it has a warm appeal to it. Over the years many of the things said on the program weither it was the guest preachers or the crouches have been scrutinized but the program continues to flurish.
Some of the pastors invited on the program seen to have the wrong slant on Christianity and this is disturbing to the concerned believer but God uses this program to send out his message.

I guess the way to look at it in its fullest form is this: As long as Jesus of the bible is taught then the lost can repent and turn to Christ. Even in our disagreement let us be glad that God is being given to the masses and this always yields opportunity for the Spirit to do his work.
Yes, pray for the wrong doctrines or wrong statements made but continue to support and pray for the gospel being published and proclaimed. Let our Lord be heard. Let his words be proclaimed.

WOMEN PREACHERS

There are 3 main verses to discuss when going over this issue. here they are then we will discuss them.
1 Timothy 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Acts 2: 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

1 Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
35And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

There is a format in which God has set down for us. God first, then man and then woman.
This seems to be the format not just in our family lives but spiritually as well. When the man steps out of his place and woman is the head then problems start to occur as seen in America today. The family unit crumbles without consistent uniformity.

The first verse in 1 Timothy 2 is speaking on this very thing. Notice it says since Adam and Eve. This means its not something just for that time or culture but a God-ordained system. Woman are not to be over the man in authority. Even the teachers of the men.
The second verse speaks of the coming of the Holy Spirit and how men and women will get the Spirit and do Gods work by prophecy of in this case since prophecy is fulfilled, forthtelling prophecying. In other words, they would preach Jesus and the gospel.
The second verse when taken in context of all of 1 Corinthians 14 is talking about women speaking in tongues in the church. This was frowned upon by Paul in this letter. This does not seem to mean never speak in a church but is talking about tongues speaking a subject we will deal with later.

As we look at these verses we are caught in a cross road. Today many churches have woman teachers and leaders in our churches. Why is this? As i observe the situation two things are pretty clear. In very small towns where women preach and are pastors it seems it is occuring mostly because men are not stepping up for God or doing Gods work. Women are forced to be the head of the church just like a lot of familys today are now being headed by women because men have left their role as the head. They want no responsibility in Church or family life. This seems to be a big part of the family and church problems of today. We are not following Gods pattern as men of God.

On the other hand many women refuse to sit under authority of men and want the power. They disobey Gods word. Yes they are doing things for God but when you disobey God and stand in the pulpit there is an underlying lie as the foundation of the whole thing and the word of God tends to be twisted in a lot of other areas. Just like the old saying, one lie will manifest into many lies and this is what happens. There tends to be a lot of false doctrine in these churches.
Again making the church in america weak for God.

Whatever we think on the subject the message is clear in scripture. To do it Gods way is the best way and only way for great and pure results. Going about it any other way is a hinderance.
Thank God though for women standing in the gap when men wont. Like Lois and Eunice, Timothys grandmother and mother, a life lived for God produces results. Lets just do it in Gods order if at all possible. His way is always best.
